Youth Forum for Seoul Conference on Cyberspace 2013

"Open up Your World in Cyberspace!"

The Youth Forum for the 2013 Seoul Conference on Cyberspace will take place on September 2 in Seoul, Korea at Yonsei University. The Youth Forum is hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and organized by the Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) and Yonsei University Center for International Studies.

As one of the side events leading up to the Seoul Conference on Cyberspace, which will be held on October 17-18 at COEX, Seoul, the Youth Forum is designed to provide a platform for the youth to discuss and share innovative ideas on a range of issues related to cyberspace. The results of the discussions at the Youth Forum will be shared at the Seoul Conference on Cyberspace.

The Youth Forum program starts with a special lecture by Taylor Reynolds, OECD Senior Economist on the Internet economy. This will be followed by three panel discussions: Economic growth and social and cultural benefits; Cybersecurity and cybercrime; and Capacity building. The panels will be composed of the nine winners of the Global Essay English Competition (June 1 - July 12), who are from Korea, Costa Rica, US, Nigeria, Philippines, and India. Almost 300 individuals/teams from more than 50 countries submitted their essays to the Competition. The top three teams at the Youth Forum will then be selected to attend the Seoul Conference on Cyberspace as a discussant.

The Youth Forum will provide an invaluable opportunity for our future global leaders from around the world to exchange views on cyberspace ? a new frontier full of endless opportunities. Open up your world in cyberspace!
